Hello

Dr. Aykut Erbas completed his Ph.D. studies at the Technical University Munich (TUM) - Germany. Later, he moved to the Chemistry Department at the University of North Carolina - Chapel Hill to research polymer dynamics. Between 2014-18, Dr. Erbas was a research fellow at the Material Science & Engineering Department and later at the Department of Biomolecular Sciences at Northwestern University under various centers dedicated to designing Bio-inspired Energy Systems. Dr. Erbas has been working on polymer physics and chemistry, spanning a wide range of time and length scales, including polyelectrolytes, hydrogels, ionic liquids, and amphiphilic molecular systems, in collaboration with various experimental and theoretical groups. Dr. Erbas’ recent studies also include charged polymers, polymer rheology, genome organization, and nuclear mechanics in health and disease.
